From Cover To Closet (A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder) // Toss-Up Tuesday

Hi Friends,
It’s been ages since I’ve done a fashion post, so I thought it was about time to bring them back. This time, I drew inspiration from the ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ trilogy. I’ve created three different looks, each inspired by one of the book covers from the main trilogy. There is a novella, but I wanted to focus this post on the main three books.

Characters & Costumes // Toss-Up Tuesday

Hi Friends,
Halloween is practically here, and I wanted to do a fun Halloween costume post! So I thought it would be fun to share what I think some bookish characters would be for Halloween.

Coraline‘ by Neil Gaiman
This one was a no brainer. She would simply go as a black cat. It is an easy and laid-back costume, especially for someone like Coraline, who does not typically like to get all dressed up. Also, cats are pretty significant to her, so I think she would be more than happy to celebrate Halloween as one.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ by Holly Jackson
Pip is the main character in this mystery book trilogy, and because of her love for solving crime, I believe she’d would go as a classic teen detective, Nancy Drew. Both girls are smart and driven, and always find themselves caught up in some sort of mystery.

A Merry Little Meet Cute’ by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone
In this book, Bee, a plus-sized pornstar, and Nolan, a former boy band member, fall in love. I think that they’d do a couples costume, and what is more classic than Sandy and Danny from Grease? Not only is it a musical type of costume for Nolan, but Sandy’s bad girl look at the end of the film would be right up Bee’s alley because it is classic, yet sexy.

I am not sure everyone will agree on these costume choices, but I think they work well for the characters. This was a really fun post to put together, and I would love to know what you all think of it. Please share and like this post because it really does help my blog. Before you go, give the blog a quick follow.

The Selection Series – From Cover To Closet // Toss-Up Tuesday

Hi Friends,
It’s been a while since I have done a fashion post here on the blog, but they are some of my favorite posts to create. This time, I took inspiration from ‘The Selection‘ trilogy by Kiera Cass book covers. These covers are stunning, and I created outfits inspired by them. I have only read the first book in the series, but I do know that it is a classic young adult dystopian trilogy. Therefore, I hope that you find that these outfits embodied the covers as much as I thought they did.

In the comments, leave me with your thoughts on the book series. In addition, tell me which outfit is your favorite. RIHOAS Wishlist // Toss-Up Tuesday

Hi Friends,
In this Toss-Up Tuesday post, I wanted to share a wishlist of mine with you guys. I have been itching to switch up my wardrobe lately, which typically happens during every new year. I’ve been gravitating more towards online clothing stores. When RIHOAS contacted me, I didn’t know much about them, but found their clothing to be super cute. So, I have put together a list of 5 of my favorite items on their site.

The Wine Red Off-The-Shoulder Ruched Velvet Midi Dress ($42.00)
This dress is stunning! I love the off-the-shoulder style, and the color is one of my favorites. It’s sexy, but without being too revealing, which I’m here for.

The Balloon Sleeves Satin Crop Blouse ($30.00)
I’m not so sure how good this top will look on me, but I’d love to have it in my closet. And, out of all three colors the purple is my favorite. I’m typically an all black clothing girl, but something about this top and this color screams, “Buy me!”

The Velvet Buttoned Asymmetric Skort ($33.00)
I’m a fan of skorts! This one is very classy, and great for a date night or party. However, I can see myself dressing it down for everyday wear as well.

The High Waisted Plaid Pleated Skort ($41.00)
Yep, another skort. This one is giving me all the school girl and ‘Clueless’ vibes, and I’m living for it. This item is on my wishlist not only because it’s cute, but it also makes my 90’s girl heart happy.

The Backless Ribbed One-piece Swimsuit ($16.00)
Honestly, I adore this one piece. I’m not usually a fan of plunging necklines, but it works here. And, the color is perfect for summertime.

All of these pieces and pretty much everything on the RIHOAS site makes me feel like these outfits are straight from a historical fiction novel. What more could a book lover ask for? In the comments, let me know which of these pieces is your favorite. Don’t forget to like and share this post with others!

Hi Friends,
Today is going to be another “fashion inspired by books” post, which are always fun to create. I have never read any of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books, but I know they are widely popular. However, when I thought of doing a book cover fashion post, her books were the first that came to mind. I chose three of her most popular books, and created outfits inspired by each cover. I personally think these looks match these book covers perfectly.

One Of Us Is Lying Fashion Inspiration // Toss-Up Tuesday

Hi Friends,
If you know me, then you know that I am a big fan of Karen M. McManus books. Well, I decided it was about time I watched the Peacock original series of ‘One Of Us Is Lying‘. The series wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but it did get me thinking about how I imagined the characters. More specifically, their fashion. Whether you have read the book, or seen the series, you can get a feel for each character’s style. And in my opinion, my outfits are pretty spot on.

Pretty Little Liars Fashion Inspiration // Toss-Up Tuesday

Hi Friends,
Today, I am doing another fashion inspired by books post. But, this one is also Valentine’s Day inspired. I decided to go with ‘Pretty Little Liars’ since the outfits are very wearable high fashion. I used a mix of their style from the television show, and their book personalities to create these looks. I noticed that on the show there wore a lot of prints, bold colors and boots so I played on those things quite a bit.

I hope that this post gave you some great V-Day style ideas. I am sure you will looks amazing in whatever you choose to wear. Let me know which outfit was your favorite in the comments below. Give this post a share and a like, so I know that you enjoy these fashion posts.

Last Minute Bookish Halloween Costumes

Hi Friends,
I know that choosing the perfect Halloween costume can be tough, and sometimes we wait until the last minute to make a decision. As a book lover, I thought it would be fun to share some bookish costumes that you can prepare at the last minute.

She is a classic book character that has a knack for solving mysteries. Her look is fairly simple to create, though you might not have all these pieces in your closet. Also, The CW’s Nancy Drew series has made the character surge in popularity.

This would be such a fun costume since you can go all out with different patterns. There are so many versions of the character, so there are a lot of ways to go about this costume. I decided to mix all the Mad Hatters from different movies to create this look. A lot of the items are easy to find, but the most important aspect is the hat, of course. What is a mad hatter without a hat?

If you are a book lover, like myself, why not go as a reader. This is certainly the most chill and easiest costume to put together. Honestly, I think that this one might be my favorite costume idea. All you have to do is wear your most comfy attire or whatever you like to read in. It is that effortless. Add some books to help complete your look. For books, I would pick horror and thriller novels since it is Halloween. The Starbucks cup is optional, but I find most readers love a good cup of coffee or tea.

Let me know if you liked these costume ideas, and tell me in the comments what you’re dressing up as this Halloween. Please like and share this post since it helps out my blog. Don’t forget to give the blog a follow as well.
