Books With Bunny Featured | Rent. Article

Hi Friends,
I am so excited to share that Books With Bunny was featured in a recent Rent. article!

Rent. article blurb:
In the hustle of daily life, it’s easy to forget to pause and be present. Slow living encourages us to savor the moment and prioritize what truly matters. As winter sets in, whether you’re cozying up at home in Bend, OR, Burlington, VT, or an apartment in Edgewater, NJ, slowing down during these colder months creates space for rest, renewal, and a deeper connection with yourself.

Bookish, Blogging & More | 2025 Goals

Hi Friends,
Happy 2025! I can’t believe it’s the first day of a New Year. I’m excited to see what this year brings. I have so many fun content ideas for all my bookish platforms and can’t wait to bring them to life. To kick off the New Year, I want to share my 2025 goals. These goals cover my blog content, reading, and personal life.

Blog Goals
Quality Over Quantity: I’ve always worked hard to stick to a blogging schedule, and for the most part, it works. However, I want to be more flexible with my content in 2025. Instead of striving for three posts a week, I want to prioritize quality over quantity. If that means publishing only one post some weeks, I’m okay with that as long as it’s the best it can be.

Book Reviews: In 2024, I struggled to stay on top of book reviews. There are still so many I haven’t published! This year, I’m determined to change that. Instead of waiting weeks to write and post reviews, I’ll try my hardest to publish them shortly after finishing each book.

Originality: I always aim to be creative with my content, but sometimes it’s challenging. In 2025, I want to brainstorm more unique and innovative bookish posts. Some of my favorite posts have been the ones that feel fresh and unlike anything I’ve seen in the book community.

Bookish Goals
Backlist Books: I’m not sure if this was a goal of mine last year, but I hope to focus more on backlist books in 2025. I often get caught up in reading new releases and neglect older titles. However, there are so many books that have been out for years that I’d love to read.

Read More, Buy Less: I want to read more books from my shelves than I buy each month. This might sound ambitious, but I’d really like to cut back on book purchases in 2025. Essentially, my goal is to read more books than I purchase each month. For example, if I buy eight books in January, I want to read at least ten books I already own. I hope that makes sense!

Reading Goal: Every year, I set a reading goal, and this year is no different. Last year, I aimed to read 115 books—and I managed to hit that goal! This year, I’m lowering my goal to 100 books. The reason for this change is that many of the books I want to read are longer and more emotionally intense. A smaller goal feels more realistic and aligned with the type of reading experience I’m aiming for.

Personal Goals
Workout: I’ve always been an exercise girlie (I even have my yoga teacher certification!), but I feel like I let fitness take a back seat in the latter half of 2024. I’d love to get back into my fitness routine and rekindle my love for working out.

Author PA: I’m so grateful to be starting my journey as an author PA. In 2025, I’d love to grow in this role, connect with more authors, and help them share their work with the world. I’m always happy to work with all budgets and assist authors with social media marketing.

Baby E: This has been a goal for my husband and me for the past four years. Hopefully, 2025 will be the year we’re blessed with a pregnancy and, possibly, a baby. It’s been a long, challenging journey, but we’re still holding on to hope that we’ll finally see those two pink lines.

And there you have it—my 2025 goals! Let me know your reading goals for the New Year in the comments. As always, you can follow me on other social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Please consider hitting the follow button—you won’t want to miss all the exciting blog content I have planned!

Thanksgiving Outfits | Reader Edition

Hi Friends,
Thanksgiving Day is so close! I can’t wait to celebrate the holiday with family and enjoy some delicious food. I thought it would be fun to share some bookish Thanksgiving outfit ideas. I’ve created two outfits that I think any book lover would love to wear this Thanksgiving. One is a bit cozier and more casual—perfect if you’re like me and stay home on the most food-filled holiday of the year. The other is still very cozy but slightly more dressed up if you’re planning to go out or maybe attend a Friendsgiving. And, of course, I had to pair a book with each outfit because, as readers, we always have to be reading!

Rory Gilmore | Halloween Costume

Hi Friends,
Let’s face it, Rory Gilmore is the ultimate reader and fall girl. Her style is casual yet put together, with effortless hair and minimal makeup. So this Halloween, dressing up as Rory Gilmore is not only a super simple costume but also perfect for any book lover. Here, you’ll find everything you’ll need to help you nail the Rory Gilmore look, ensuring your Halloween costume is on point.

The Outfit
I wanted to keep this outfit simple, something Gilmore Girls fans could easily spot as Rory Gilmore-approved. The chunky white sweater has become known as the Rory sweater. Honestly, besides her Chilton uniform, it’s probably her most memorable fashion item from the show. Rory is such a casual girl, so throw on a pair of jeans and add some suede ankle boots—since let’s face it, she and Lorelai wore a lot of boots. Don’t forget to add a backpack to help complete the look and store your costume props, like a book!

The Hair
Let’s be real—her hair wasn’t the most stylish part of her look. She kept it simple and natural most of the time. However, I think her bangs were pretty iconic. A style I noticed her wearing a lot in the earlier seasons was straight hair with two tiny French braids on either side. Later in the show, especially during the college seasons, she embraced her naturally wavy hair or styled loose curls, pinning the sides back while leaving some pieces out to frame her face.

The Makeup
Right before she went off to Yale, Rory complained about having so many beauty products, but she really kept her makeup minimal. To achieve her look, remember to let your natural beauty shine through, ensuring that your focus is on creating a flawless, matte base.

For her eyes, she kept things easy, sticking to brown and skin-tone shades, and using brown eyeliner. She lined her top lash line and only the outer corner of her bottom lash line. She also wore mascara, and her blush was always a rosy pink shade. As for her lips, she was clearly a gloss girl, tending to wear nude or light pink shades.

Like I mentioned earlier, no Rory Gilmore costume would be complete without a book, so don’t forget to carry one around—maybe even a Luke’s coffee cup! To really sell the costume, throw out a few classic Gilmore Girls quotes! My favorites are “Oy with the poodles already” and “In omnia paratus.”

This costume will be a hit among your reader and Gilmore Girls-loving friends. It’s creative and perfect for a night of handing out Halloween candy because of how simple and casual it is. Fall Starter Kit | Movies, Books And More

Hi Friends,
The leaves are changing, and the weather is finally getting cooler. Okay, 80 degrees might not seem like a big cool-down, but it’s better than the 90+ degree days we’ve been having. Despite the temperature, fall is here, and I wanted to give you my fall starter guide—from movies to books and all things cozy!

You’ve Got Mail: In full transparency, I’m not a huge fan of this movie, but it’s one of my mom’s favorite movies, and it is the perfect movie to help you get in the fall mood. Not only is it an enemies-to-lovers romance with secret email pals, but it also takes place in New York—and there’s a bookstore! Could there be a more fall-ish movie?

Practical Magic: This is another one of my mom’s favorite movies. Can you tell I’m a mommy’s girl? This movie will put you in the mood to don a witch’s hat and make midnight margaritas. I think this is the perfect watch for those wanting a tamer spooky vibe for the fall. Although it has some witchy, creepy parts, at its core the film is about the bond of sisterhood and love.

The Artful Dodger: This Hulu original series takes place in the 1850s, following the famous Charles Dickens character Dodger. I haven’t watched it yet, but it’s high on my list this fall. I’ve heard great things about it, and it’s supposed to be a fantastic show to binge during autumn.

Gilmore Girls: Would this even be a fall starter guide if I didn’t mention Gilmore Girls? My personal favorite seasons are 1 through 3, but the entire series, despite its many flaws, is amazing. I don’t think there’s another show that embodies fall more perfectly.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
This book is a classic for a reason! I loved the plot, characters, and ending. It’s a story about four sisters who face the challenges of growing up, love, and loss. Although it doesn’t take place solely in the fall, the timelessness and cozy atmosphere make it a great autumn read.

Shady Hollow by Juneau Black
This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series. There’s just something about a town full of talking animals where murders happen that screams fall. Also, why does every small town that screams autumn have “Hollow” in the name? This series is such a cozy and fast read, with mysteries that aren’t too intense or complex—almost like a Scooby-Doo episode.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
For me, it’s not fall until you read a vampire book. Sure, there are the classic vampire stories, but something about Twilight takes me back to my teenage years. The atmosphere in this book makes it perfect for October. Let’s face it—Forks seems like the perfect place to visit during the fall.

Music

Below, I’ve put together my autumn playlist! These are songs that I listen to every fall. And, truth be told, Safe and Sound will always be my number one Taylor Swift song because of the fall memories attached to it.

Autumn Essentials

Candles: Where are all my scented candle lovers? Because you can’t have a cozy fall night without a candle burning, right? I love apple and cinnamon scents in the fall, so I was thrilled to find a four-pack of candles with some of my favorite fall scents on Amazon [Here].

Seasonal Tea: Truth be told, I’m not much of a tea drinker, but my sister is a huge fan. During the autumn season (or holidays in general), she loves to try out seasonal tea flavors. There’s a set from The Republic of Tea that includes cranberry, apple cider, and pumpkin-flavored teas. Could tea get any more fall?

Fuzzy Socks: What better way to complete your autumn starter kit than with some fuzzy socks? Who doesn’t love a warm pair of socks on a cool fall evening? They really help you feel cozy, even on nights when the weather is a little warmer.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about my recommendations for an autumn starter pack! If you think there’s anything missing from this list, please let me know in the comments. Don’t forget to share this post with others and give it a like! Your engagement means a lot to me and helps my blog grow. Another way to support my blog is by giving it a follow, which is 100% free.

Bookish, Blogging & More // 2024 Goals

Hi Friends,
Happy New Year! The fact that it is 2024 is simply mind boggling, since I don’t think I have even fully processed 2020 yet. But, ready or not, a New Year is here, which means new goals. Or, as some call them, resolutions. Just like last year, I’m going to be sharing with you my bookish, blog, and personal goals for the year ahead.

Blog Goals
– Stay Consistent: I feel like this will always be a goal of mine. I want to continue to be consistent on my blog. Unfortunately, Bookmas (although wonderful) was a fail for me in 2023. So, I am hoping that I can keep posting regularly this year, and have a successful 2024 Bookmas.
– Don’t Compare: I think all content creators are guilty of comparing themselves to others. I would like to stop doing that, and focus on my content. Specifically, posting what I like to post. My blog has always been my own little corner of the internet, and I’d like to remind myself that everyone is different.
– Engage: It would be awesome if I could engage in the book community more. This is something that I started doing at the end of 2023, and I am so happy about that. I want to start commenting on Instagram and blog posts more often. It has been so much fun connecting with people in the bookish community. Hopefully, I can keep that up in 2024.

Bookish Goals
– Physical TBR: I have no idea the number of unread books I own, but it’s probably at least 100. This year, I would like to make an effort to read the books I own.
– Different Genres: I am always telling myself that I’m going to read books that are out of my comfort zone, and never do. So, something that I will be trying to do is reading books from all types of genres – including ones I don’t normally gravitate towards.
– Blacklist Books: I can be guilty of reading only new and popular titles so I am hoping that in 2024 I can make it the year of backlist books. Of course, I will read some new releases, but I have a lot of older books that I want to read this year as well.

Personal Goals
– Stress Less: This is way easier said than done. I am typically a ball of stress, even on anxiety medication, but I am going to try and be stress free in 2024.
– Baby E: In last years post I mentioned that I wanted to get pregnant. Well, we are going on trying for two years now with no success, but I truly believe that this will be our year!
– Travel: I would love to travel this year, since I did absolutely no traveling in 2023. I have some places that I would love to visit and cross off my bucket list.

In the comments, let me know some of your goals or resolutions for the New Year. And, one last thing. Like last year, my reading goal will be 100 books. If I hit it, that would be great! But if not, that’s fine too. Before you leave, ring in the New Year by following my blog!

Until The Next Chapter,

This Or That // Holiday Edition

Hi Friends,
Today is Bookmas, day 17! I’m doing my own little version of a holiday ‘This or That’ tag. I found some holiday ‘This or That’ questions on Pinterest, and thought I’d turn it into a little tag. As you know, I love doing tag posts, whether they are bookish or not.

Build A Snowman or Make A Snow Angel
I’ve actually done both of these in my life, but I’m going to have to go with build a snowman. I think it’s way more fun and less risk of catching a cold than making a snow Angel.

Hot Chocolate or Apple Cider
This one is hard, because they are both so tasty. However, I have been loving hot chocolate this holiday season. It seems that in the winter time, my night isn’t complete without a warm cup of hot chocolate.

Gingerbread or Peppermint
Hear me out, I’m a peppermint girl, through and through, but during the holidays give me all the gingerbread flavored stuff. Thus, I’m saying gingerbread (but I still do love peppermint everything).

Skiing or Ice Skating
Unfortunately, I have never been skiing, but I would like to. I did take ice skating lessons for a short period of time when I was a teenager. Fun fact – one of my favorite movies use to be ‘Ice Princess’, so of course I’m going to have to say ice skating. For nostalgia.

Clear Lights or Colorful Lights
I love the look of clear lights, because they are very clean and simplistic. But, I think that colorful lights scream the holidays, which is why they would be my pick.

Cookie Decorating or Gingerbread House Making
Every year my family does a gingerbread house making competition, but we also make and decorate cookies. There are pros and cons to both, but despite the fact that you can’t eat a gingerbread house (I guess it depends on the freshness), I still would rather make one than decorate cookies. I know, I’m strange.

Heated Blanket or Cozy Fireplace
Unfortunately, I don’t have a fireplace in my house, but I use to in my first apartment. Although, I love a good heated blanket, nothing beat a fireplace. For me they are timeless, beautiful, and classy.

Home For The Holidays or Traveling
This one is hard, because I would give anything to spend the holidays in New York, or England. However, there is just something special about spending the holidays at home with family. So, traveling during the winter season, but I’d rather be home on the actual holiday.

Christmas Movies or Christmas Carols
This is probably one of the hardest questions, because I love them both. But, I’m truly a music lover. I am going to have to say Christmas carols. I could fall asleep listening to Silent Night, and be content.

Christmas or New Year
This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but as much as I love Christmas, I’m a New Year’s girl. My favorite day of the year is New Year’s Eve because you have a whole new year full of new possibilities to look forward to.

There you have my holiday ‘This or That’ tag. Feel free to do this on your own blog, and please let me know if you do. I would love to see all of your answers. As always, you can show your support for my blog by giving it a follow.

Until The Next Chapter,
Bunny

Happy Thanksgiving // Thankful Thursday

Hi Friends,
Happy Thanksgiving! I am grateful for all my amazing readers. This year, my little book blog has grown so much, and a few days ago I surpassed my views from last year. It is crazy to me that I started Books With Bunny in 2021, and in that first year of blogging I was lucky enough to have over 900 views by the end of the year. This blog has become something that I am incredibly thankful to have in my life.

I hope that everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving Day. And, if you aren’t celebrating today I hope that your day is just as special.

Until The Next Chapter,
Bunny

This Week // Thankful Thursday

Hi Friday,
Now that it’s November, I will once again be doing ‘Thankful Thursday!’ This is just a series of posts, where every Thursday in November there will be a post that has to do with being thankful. To kick off the series, I am going to talk about three things that I am thankful for this week. Also, I am not including my family or husband on this list because I am always thankful for them.

Although I am always grateful for my fur babies, this week, I have taken the time to appreciate them a lot more. Sometimes being a pet owner can be stressful, but I am so glad that I have these crazy animals in my life.

This might seem silly, but I am so happy that we have bookstores. Yes, I know I can just shop for books online, but there is something different about going into a bookstore. I love shopping the shelves and bringing home a new book. Hopefully, bookstores will never fade away.

I am a winter girlie, so I love that it is starting to get colder. I love wearing sweaters and bundling up in a cozy blanket. Nothing beat a cold winter morning, drinking hot coffee and reading a fall or holiday book.

I am sure that there are a million more things that I am thankful for this week, but if I listed all of them, this post would be very long. So, I am just going to leave you with these three. In the comments, tell me, one thing you are thankful for this week. Do not forget to help support my blog by giving it a follow.

Until The Next Chapter,
Bunny
